During the opening hours, it is always Dropin. So no booking. Just come here and buy a ticket at the nearest available place on the safari.

We welcome groups almost all year around. There are several ways of organising group visits. One way is bringing your own food and rent the café for your meeting. Another is to order tea and coffee in advance. We also advice larger groups to call in advance and make a reservation.

Our only condition is that you buy a safari ride. It is not permitted for visitors to walk around the enclosure as this can disturb the moose.

Dogs brought to the park need to stay on leash in the parkinglot or outside the Moose barn. They can not come along on the safari ride but have to stay in the car during this time. The reason for this being that with dogs in the safari jeep the moose will be too scared to approach and will run away instead.

We do the moose safari with 3 or 4 jeeps at the time taking 16 persons in each. The jeeps you ride in have a roof and are partially open at the sides giving you an opportunity to pet and feed the moose while being well protected at the same time. Bad weather is not a problem.

During peak season there might be a wait to go on the safari rides. While waiting you are welcome to walk the nature trail around the sheep enclosure. The walk is roughly 500 m and have information signs and quiz questions about the animals here at Virum Moose Park.

There is also a playground and a ropeway for the children.

The safari jeeps are suitable for everyone including young children, elderly people and people in wheelchairs. The moose safari takes between 30 and 40 minutes.

The safari tour runs once an hour.

The Moose Barn

We have built a café and moose shop in our old barn. You can have tea and coffee either in the antique furnished loft or outside with a view over part of the enclosure and the ponds. You can buy coffee, tea, cold drinks, buns, biscuits and ice-cream. Sometimes during peak season we also sell sandwiches.

You can also buy a lot of different moose souvenirs in the Moose Barn. Anything from moose antlers, t-shirts, caps, cuddly toys, mugs, postcards, stamps etc.

We also sell the Virum Moose, handmade in wood by Daniel Henningsson, and the towel Nature in the city, designed by Elin Larsson. Daniel is our nephew and Elin is our niece and they are both talented artists.

WC with warm water is available.
